Girl Scouts Rock in 2016!!!!!

I am as giddy as can be! I have waited all summer and FINALLY it’s time!!

My heart lies within Girl Scouts! This is my love! These girls charge me up like nothing else!

This year I am the leader of 3 troops: Daisies (K-1) Brownies (2-3 grades) and Cadettes (6-8 grade)

I have met my Brownies (there are 9-10 so far) and Cadettes (7 so far) and next week I will have the privilege of meeting the new Daisies!!!! I am also the area troop organizer which means I am in charge of setting up troops for all the new girls and I will be the cookie person for our area this year! I consider this a promotion! I really want to be area manager but I have to work my way up still! That’s ok, I’m not going anywhere!

With the Daisies, we will be learning the Girl Scout promise and earning our petals together. Little girls just steal your heart and really make you day with their giggles don’t you think? I was extremely lucky and had some really awesome moms to go along with those 10 bundles of energy! Two of the moms even took charge and are now leader and co-leader and I couldn’t be more happier for them! Good luck you two!!!!! I know you got this!

My youngest daughter bridged to brownies this year so we started a new troop for them! Last year’s girls bridged up to Juniors. ALL 20 of them! Yes 20 girls all in the same spot at the same time!! They certainly kept me and the co-leader extremely busy but it was oh so worth it!!! I have also handed that troop over to an amazing lady and my co-leader will remain with that troop!

My first and original troop, Juniors, have moved up to the big world of Cadettes! This was a huge step for me personally and I am trying my best to step up and keep these girls happy and busy! I started with 5 girls a couple of years ago and am now up to 7 with girls both leaving and joining! The dynamic is ever changing and preteen/teen girls are a breed of their own! I can’t wait to see what we come up with for trips and badge work!

I will be posting every week after our meetings with what we did and the progress we are making in our Journeys! I really hope you will stay tuned and even learn a thing or two along the way!
